About Hastings, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Hastings, Michigan is the county seat of Barry County. With about 7,400 residents, it isn’t just the largest city in the county – it is the only city. Hastings is part of the Grand Rapids Metro Area and borders Hastings Charter Township and Rutland Charter Township. The community was incorporated as a village in 1855, and it officially became a city in 1871. Today, the city is most notable as the home to the annual Barry-Roubaix Cycling Event, which attracts about 3,000 participants.

Hastings is home to many interesting things to see and do. Outdoor recreation is popular in the community, and top destinations include Historic Charlton Park, Bob King Park, and U Rent Em Canoe Livery. Golf fans may enjoy an afternoon at Gun Ridge Golf Course, and fishing and water sports can be enjoyed at Algonquin Lake and Carter Lake. There are also plenty of restaurants in the community, including Seasonal Grille, State Street Diner, and Phil’s Galley.

While varied seasonal weather conditions make Hastings a great place for outdoor recreation, it is important that residents prepare at home with the right climate controls. The summer months can be very warm with high humidity levels, and central air conditioning is the most common way to cool down temperatures indoors. These systems are especially useful when outdoor temperatures climb into the 80s and 90s.  An energy-efficient model can help homeowners to save on their utility costs as well as cut down on allergens circulating through indoor air.

When temperatures drop during the autumn months, it is time for Hastings homeowners to prepare their heating systems. The winter season can be brutal with cold temperature and significant snowfall. Average snow totals reach 75 inches per year, and when combined with freezing temperatures, outdoor conditions can be dangerous. The right gas or electric furnace will keep it comfortable inside, and periodic maintenance with a licensed HVAC technician will ensure the system runs at optimal efficiency.
